Inverness can be reached by car within 1hour 30 minutes and as the capital of the Highlands it has a wide range of shops and facilities, as well as the airport at Dalcross and mainline railway station.

Lochcarron is situated 10 miles to the south and caters for day to day needs with a post office and shops. Whilst Shieldaig, an idyllic west coast fishing village is situated approximately five miles to the north and has a good hotel pub post office and shop. There is a railway at Stratchcarron on the line between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh.

Take a trip to Ullapool to visit The Corrieshalloch Gorge a 60 meter deep Gorge overgrown with trees. Or pop to Poolewe and the subtropical Inverewe Gardens. Applecross offers incredible lunches at the Applecross Inn, the Flower Tunnel and the Potting Shed Café.

The nearby Isle of Skye, the largest and most northerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland is renowned for its spectacular scenery, vibrant culture and heritage, and its abundant wildlife including the Golden Eagle, Red Deer and Salmon.

Driving on the miles of amazing single track roads of Wester Ross is an adventure in itself whilst admiring the scenery, avoiding the deer and sheep in the roads.
